Autumn Vaccination Campaign – Flu and Covid
The autumn vaccination campaign launches from 1 October 2025.
However, pregnant women and children aged 2-3 are eligible for their flu vaccine in September. Our clinic for these groups is running on the morning of Sat 20th September. We are hosting it as a Teddy Bear’s Picnic in order for it to a be a relaxed and family-friendly envirneoment, Please encourage your child to being their favourite toy as a source o support.
The main adult autumn vaccination clinics will run on the mornings of Saturday 4th October and 18th October. Eligible patients will receive a letter or a texted booking link over the next few days with instructions on how to book an appointment. Clinics tend to be busiest in the first hour so you may choose to book a later slot time if you prefer not to queue.
Clinics will take place on the Ground Floor of Oakwood Lane Medical Practice. If you do not wish to be vaccinated this year, please inform us by calling the practice so we can update your medical record.
IMPORTANT: School-aged children are offered flu vaccine at school unless they have an underlying clinical condition in which case, they will be invited by us to attend the practice. The school service offers both the nasal and the injectable flu vaccine. Primary school children who wish to have the injectable form will need to attend a community clinic but secondary school children will be offered the choice in their school appointment. Please wait to be contacted via your school for more information about the programme. Once you have received this, you can also raise any queries or support with booking for a school-aged child, via the school immunisation service on Phone: 0113 8433101 or Email: lcht.schoolimmsteam@nhs.net.
